ABOUT US

This Open Line is a multimodal digital conversation, an ongoing conversation between friends who share a love of life and a penchant for the arts. Alison Bloxson of Plumb Photography and Dr. Deidre Price, writer and English professor, share the creative space of This Open Line.

The blog title was inspired by poet-friends Anne Sexton and Maxine Kumin who, because they were so often collaborating on revisions, each had an additional phone line installed so that they could leave it off the hook and whistle into it whenever a new draft of a poem was ready.

This is our open line, our way to create and communicate with one another and with you.

HOW THIS WORKS

Ali takes the pictures. Deidre writes the words. The roles of prompter and responder alternate, so the inspiration volleys back and forth. When Ali's photograph is the inspiration, it appears first, followed by the writing in response. When Deidre's writing is the inspiration, it comes first.
